'I want to make sure no one can break my record!'

Turning Tyrone Mings and finding the bottom right corner, Greenwood put United ahead at Villa Park on Sunday afternoon. The Reds had gone behind to a screamer from Bertrand Traore but levelled up immediately after half-time through a Bruno Fernandes penalty. Greenwood scored a second four minutes later.

It's the 19-year-old's fifth goal in his last five games as he storms into top form for the crucial, and busy, end-of-the-season schedule.

"It was a good goal," Greenwood admitted, looking back on his second-half strike.

"I just knew that he [Mings] was coming tight to you in the box, so if you get a little movement then you can get half a yard. I finished it well, I'm happy with my goal today.

"Hopefully there are many more to come. I'll try and keep scoring goals so no one else can come and break the record in the future! I’m happy scoring goals."

Wayne Rooney had been United's highest-scoring teenager in Premier League history (15 goals). Greenwood levelled Rooney's tally against Burnley three weeks ago and now has six months to get the total as high as possible, as he only turns 20 on 1 October.

Having picked up maximum points on Sunday, United have now collected 31 points after coming from behind in Premier League games this season. Greenwood has warned that it's not the ideal situation.

"We’ve got a little bit of a bad habit," Greenwood told MUTV. "It’s not so bad if we come and get the three points; it’s just a wake up call when they score."

"We know we can come back second half and get the three points. We need to work on it and not give little goals away in the first half so we don’t have to come back from behind.

"We were always confident that we’d get the three points. That first goal was good play from Paul to get the penalty. We always knew Bruno would put it in the back of the net. It was a confidence booster. From there, we looked comfortable and got the three points."

Greenwood came off for Edinson Cavani after 65 minutes at Villa Park meaning he could be involved again as United's jampacked fixture list continues on Tuesday with a home test against Leicester City.

Cavani provided a fantastic contribution off the bench once again, heading home a Rashford cross late on to seal the win. Greenwood has spoken about Cavani acting as a mentor before and declared himself 'proud' of the Uruguayan.

"[It was] exactly the same as against Roma," Mason said.

"You always know what he’s going to do but you still can’t seem to stop him. It’s nice to watch him off the bench. It’s the movement, everyone knows he can do it but it still seems they’re not able to stop him. We’re all learning off him, me, Rashy, Amad... we’re all looking up to him. "
