Which Reds have received international call-ups?

International football will make its return to the sporting calendar this week, with UEFA’s Nations League being staged for the second time in its history.

The first two rounds of fixtures will run from 3 to 8 September and several Manchester United players have received call-ups from their respective nations, including new signing Donny van de Beek.

The 23-year-old has been picked by Netherlands' caretaker boss Dwight Lodeweges for fixtures against Poland and Italy ahead of what could be his first competitive outings since March.

Last week, Gareth Southgate announced his first England squad in almost a year and included Mason Greenwood in the seniors for the first time.

The attacker’s 17-goal haul for United in 2019/20 clearly has impressed the Three Lions boss, and he could play in either of England’s upcoming games against Iceland or Denmark.

Reds goalkeeper Dean Henderson could also earn his first senior England cap, after he was included in Southgate’s squad.

We also have representatives in other home nation squads, with Scott McTominay part of the Scotland side that will face Israel and Czech Republic.

Daniel James and United youngster Dylan Levitt are among the 26 players selected by Ryan Giggs for Nations League clashes against Finland and Bulgaria.

We may also have an all-United showdown on the international scene, when France take on Sweden at the Friends Arena in Stockholm. The world champions have selected Anthony Martial in their squad - the first time our no.9 has received a call-up in over two years - while the Swedes have included Victor Lindelof.

After the clash in the Swedish capital, France then face Croatia and Sweden take on Potugal, where we could once again see two Reds lock horns.

That’s because Bruno Fernandes is part of the Portuguese set-up. Fernando Santos’s men begin their double header by facing Croatia, before they too travel to the Friends Arena.

Portugal won the inaugural Nations League in 2019 and will be among the favourites to lift the crown again.

Spain will be another side who fancy their chances of glory, and La Roja have included David De Gea as part their squad to play Germany and Ukraine over the next week.
