Hannah Blundell wins United Women Players' Player of the Season
Hannah Blundell has been named Manchester United Women Player’s Player of the Year for 2022/23 by her Reds team-mates.
The defender has only missed two games in the 2022/23 season for the Reds, scoring two goals.
Blundell was presented with the award after the final game of the season against Liverpool at Prenton Park.
Speaking after the game, manager Marc Skinner said: “All the players were together to present Hannah with the award. She is a bit of an unsung hero within the team.
“She is so valued by her peers. It was great to be able to celebrate with the whole team and the whole squad.”
After joining Manchester United in 2021, after 11 years at Chelsea, Blundell reached 50 appearances for the club in 2022/23.
Speaking earlier in the season, the defender said that ‘togetherness’ is what makes our women's team so special.
“I think the togetherness we’ve got as a group carries us through the tough times in games or the season,” she said.
“I’ve learned more than I can push myself out of my comfort zone,” Blundell said, discussing her move.
“I was really comfortable where I was at Chelsea and felt like I needed a change. I put myself in a position to really push myself out of my comfort zone and push myself in any way I can, whether that’s in life or in general.
“It’s something I’m so happy I did.”
Congratulations on your award, Hannah!
