Amass joins Sheffield Wednesday on loan
Left-back Harry Amass has joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan, subject to registration.
It’s the London-born defender’s first loan move away from Manchester United, for whom he made his senior debut earlier this year, on his 18th birthday, as a substitute in an away Premier League victory at Leicester City.
Harry went on to make a further six appearances before the season’s end, having become our 253rd Academy graduate.
At the conclusion of the campaign, Amass received the prestigious Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award, as recognition for another fantastic season of development at the club.

Harry joined United from Watford in 2023 and featured regularly for both the U18s and U21s in his debut campaign, 2023/24, as the young Reds won three trophies, including the U18 Premier League title.
His strong performances earned him a spot on the first-team bench for two Premier League games and the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley. Capped by England’s youth sides, Amass was then heavily involved in our 2024 pre-season friendlies.
He now joins up with Championship side Sheffield Wednesday, hoping to play regular first-team football and continue his development.
Everyone at United wishes Harry the best of luck at Hillsborough, and, as part of our loans programme, staff at the club will continue to be in close contact to help him maximise this opportunity.
