Harry Amass has been included in Manchester United's senior squad for the first time.

The 17-year-old defender has been a key part of the impressive Under-18s side this term and trained regularly with the first team at Carrington.

With injuries to contend with at the back, manager Erik ten Hag has turned to youth again by naming the left-back on the bench for the home game against arch-rivals Liverpool in the Premier League.

The boss has had to make changes for the visit of the Merseysiders.

Amass joined the Academy from Watford and, remarkably, managed to get a spot on their bench for the Emirates FA Cup third-round defeat to Reading, while still only 15.

The chance to be involved against United's biggest rivals comes after Adam Lawrence's Under-18s won 9-1 against the Merseysiders in Saturday's encounter, without their influential performer, to take a step closer to winning the Premier League North title.

Fellow Academy youngsters Habeeb Ogunneye and Omari Forson were also in reserve for Ten Hag, as the Reds look to emulate our Emirates FA Cup quarter-final victory over a side looking to go back to the top of the table.
