Once again, Maguire is ready to give everything
Harry Maguire has discussed his aims and ambitions for the upcoming season, as we celebrate his sixth anniversary as a Manchester United player.
The 32-year-old arrived at Old Trafford from Leicester City on 5 August 2019 and has gone on to collect Carabao Cup and Emirates FA Cup winners' medals during his time at the club.
Maguire provided some of last term's most memorable moments when moonlighting as a striker in the dying embers of a game – most notably heading home a last-gasp extra-time winner against Lyon in the Europa League – in an otherwise difficult campaign for the Reds.
Now heading into his seventh season with the club, the towering defender is targeting big improvements for both himself and the rest of the team.
Maguire: We feel in a good place
WALK AND TALK | Harry Maguire chats to MUTV's Liam Bradford about Tour 2025 and how United are building a bond...
"I just want to be part of a successful team this season," Maguire told MUTV's Liam Bradford in a post-training chat. "I think last season was a tough season for everyone individually, but also as a team, as a squad, as a club.
"This season, there are no excuses. We're going to have a lot of time to prepare for the Premier League games, and we've got to make sure we're ready.
"So, for myself, it's making sure I'm available, I'm fit, I'm ready to go, and give everything I can to this team and this club."
The Reds have already had a taste of what increased preparation time can bring throughout Tour 2025, presented by Snapdragon, where the squad have been together in the United States for couple of weeks, allowing for a broader range of sessions.
"It's something that [Ruben Amorim] reiterated, that we didn't have enough time on the training pitch," Maguire continued. "This pre-season, it's been tough on the legs, but the majority of it has been tactical.
"So, it's nice to do the drills that are tactical rather than running around poles and running around the pitch.
"It's been an enjoyable pre-season, but a pre-season that we've all learnt from. We know the system a lot better, and we've just got to take that into the games now."
Maguire’s 15 goals are so, so enjoyable!

United have one final pre-season assignment, back at Old Trafford for a live MUTV encounter against Fiorentina, but it's all building towards Arsenal's visit for the first game of the new Premier League season, to get the new term off to the best start.
"We've had some team meals, some fun times together," Maguire revealed about the American leg of the tour. "But when we've been on the training pitch, we've worked really hard.
"We've been bang at it, so we feel in a good place.
"We've got to go and show that, obviously, when the season starts, because that's when it kicks in and when we want to do really well and get the victories."
Over 50,000 tickets have been sold for Saturday's Snapdragon Cup match against Fiorentina at Old Trafford, kicking off at 12:45 BST.
It promises to be a great occasion in M16, with new signings Matheus Cunha, Diego Leon and Bryan Mbeumo all expected to feature at the Theatre of Dreams.
United legend David De Gea is also set to make an emotional return to his former home, in his current capacity as Fiorentina no.1.
