Maguire: It’s great to be back
Manchester United club captain Harry Maguire says he’s delighted to be back out on the pitch, after making his return from injury in Thursday's 3-0 win over Sheriff Tiraspol.
The centre-back was introduced for the start of the second half at Old Trafford and partnered Victor Lindelof at the heart of our defence, helping the side to keep a clean sheet and limiting the visitors to just a solitary shot.
Following an impressive performance on his return, Harry shared his joy at being back out there in a United shirt.

“It’s great to be back,” he said in an interview with club media. “Being injured is always a tough part of being a footballer, but I’ve been kicking every ball on the sidelines, cheering every goal that’s gone in and supporting the lads.
“We’ve picked up some good results and we’re pushing [to] where we want to be in the Premier League as well.
“We’ve got important games coming up and that’s what it's all about.”
After being on the sidelines for a number of weeks, due to an injury sustained during international duty with England at the start of September, Maguire says he’s ready to help the Reds progress towards our objectives.
“It’s tough [being injured],” he said. “I support the lads whether I’m playing, whether I’m watching at home or whether I’m in the stands. I kick every ball and I cheer every goal.
“As a footballer you want to play games and you want to be available to help the team, so it’s nice to be back on the training pitch, it’s nice to get some minutes tonight and that’s what it’s all about. It’s about helping the team move forward.”
Lindelof: I'm happy to have them back
ArticleThe Swedish centre-back was thrilled to see the duo return from injury against Sheriff.
Our captain was also full of praise for United's supporters, who gave him a warm welcome on his return.
“Playing at Old Trafford is a dream come true, so every time you step on that pitch [it’s amazing], especially the reception.
“So I thank the fans for the amazing reception, and I’m looking forward to playing now and hopefully staying injury free.”
