Manchester United defender Harry Maguire made his landmark 200th appearance for the club when he was introduced as a second-half substitute in our 1-1 draw with Brentford on Saturday.

The defender recently sat down with club media for a special interview ahead of the milestone, reflecting on some key memories from his time as a Red.

The 31-year-old joined us from Leicester City back in the summer of 2019, and has been an important member of our backline ever since.

In the exclusive chat with Harry, he reflected on his debut - a 4-0 triumph at home to Chelsea - and the pride he felt in walking out as a United player at Old Trafford for the first time.

THE 200 CLUB | Harry Maguire discusses his United memories and future ambitions, after another big milestone as a Red...

"[I] signed not many days before the first game of the season, [and] obviously got put straight into the team," he recalled.

"It was a great occasion, playing at Old Trafford in front of the fans. It was a sunny day against Chelsea and to get the 4-0 victory on my debut is something I'll never forget.

"It was a moment with all my friends and family in the stand and a really proud day for myself.

"The pressure of the opening day of the season is always the one, as players, you feel the most nervous in a season. You've had that period of off-season and to go out there [on] my debut, [at] Old Trafford [in that] atmosphere was unbelievable."

While that first appearance remains Maguire's "biggest highlight" so far, there has been no shortage of other top memories for the defender too.

Harry identified Scott McTominay's spectacular derby goal in March 2020 and winning the Carabao Cup at Wembley last season as other notable moments from his four-and-a-half years at the club.

"Playing in the Manchester derby, the one at Old Trafford before Covid was an unbelievable atmosphere," he added.

"Probably one of the best I’ve played in, where Scotty scores in the last minute.

"Obviously, lifting the Carabao Cup as well was a huge moment for me.

"This club demands winning trophies.

"We got beaten in a Europa League final under Ole [Gunnar Solskjaer] in a penalty shootout, which was tough to take. But to [win a trophy] in Erik's first season was really impressive. The lads did a great job and thoroughly deserved a trophy."

Having reached his 200th appearance for United, Maguire will undoubtedly be looking to kick on further and lift more silverware as Red.

With Erik ten Hag's team into the semi-finals of the FA Cup this season and on the cusp of reaching the final for a second successive year, there remains a chance that the 2023/24 season could end with more lasting memories for our no.5.
