Maguire: It was a positive performance
Manchester United captain Harry Maguire believes we put in a "really positive" showing in our 2-1 win over Fulham on Sunday.
Barring the first 20 minutes, in which Kenny Tete opened the scoring for the visitors, our no.5 was pleased with how we bounced back to end our 2022/23 campaign on a high.
Maguire was one of six changes made by manager Erik ten Hag to the side that beat Chelsea on Thursday, as the Reds secured victory with goals from Jadon Sancho and Bruno Fernandes.
“We have a lot of competition for places and that’s what a big club needs – strength in depth,” he told MUTV at full-time.
“I think you’ve seen today, after the first 20 minutes it was a really positive performance from the lads who stepped in, the lads who haven’t played as much.
Maguire: The season's not finished yet
"We've got one more big game, one more big push," says Harry, after our Premier League finale against Fulham...
“It’s good to be a part of the squad and if we’re going to be successful this season, next season, and seasons after that, we’re going to need a big squad.”
“He’s been amazing this season,” he said. “He’s made big saves in big moments and that is what David does.
“Obviously [there was] a big help from the rest of the lads as well – defence, midfield, attack – it’s a joint effort but David deserves it because he has kept us in games in crucial moments.”

ArticleThe Reds close out our Premier League season on a high, with another win at home.
“We know we’re up against a good team but we have to look after ourselves,” Maguire added.
“The manager I’m sure will have a game plan and we’ll make sure we’re ready when called upon.
“We've got to make sure that we perform; like I said, we need to look after ourselves and the result will follow.”
