Manchester United suffered a first Premier League defeat in three-and-a-half months at the hands of Leicester City, who recorded a crucial 2-1 win in their quest for a Champions League spot.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made 10 changes to the side that had beaten Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon. Luke Thomas opened the scoring early on for Leicester with a wonderfully controlled volley at the far post. United responded well, taking the game to the Foxes and quickly equalising through Mason Greenwood.
The 19-year-old netted his eighth goal in 11 games as Amad, making his first senior start for the club, fed the ball to him the box. The move had been initiated by a fantastic ball from Juan Mata.
Unfortunately, Caglar Soyuncu's second-half header from a corner condemned United to defeat.
