Seven Reds gear up for internationals

Another international break beckons, and we now know the squads for home nations England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

A total of seven Reds are in the senior groups ahead of friendlies, UEFA Nations League ties and crucial play-off finals to decide which countries will qualify for next summer's European Championship.

ENGLAND

Dean Henderson, Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford are in Gareth Southgate's squad with three games on the Three Lions' schedule.

The 2018 World Cup semi-finalists host Republic of Ireland on 12 November in a friendly before Nations League encounters in Belgium (15 November) and at home to Iceland, three days later.

Henderson is still awaiting his full international debut and it would be a nice way for the keeper to follow up his Champions League bow in midweek. Maguire will be suspended for the Belgium game, having been sent off against Denmark last month.

NORTHERN IRELAND

Youngster Ethan Galbraith has had previous senior experience with his country but he has been promoted from the Under-21s for the crucial European Championship play-off with Slovakia on 12 November.

While all eyes are on that game and a chance to reach the finals, there is also a trip to Austria (15 November) and home game with Romania (18 November) to look forward to.

Homegrown product Galbraith was outstanding in the Premier League 2 win over Everton last time out, scoring an injury-time winner from the penalty spot, and is expected to feature in Friday's Under-23s clash at Brighton & Hove Albion, live on MUTV.

SCOTLAND

Scott McTominay is part of the squad that will travel to Serbia for the match next week (12 November) that will determine whether Steve Clarke's men can reach the finals of a major tournament, for the first time since 1998.

The team will also be away to Slovakia (15 November) and Israel (18 November) in Nations League combat.

Scott has been playing as part of a three-man central defence for his country.

WALES

Daniel James and Dylan Levitt will hope to play against USA in a friendly on 12 November, with matches to follow on the same dates as the other home nations' fixtures against Republic of Ireland (15 November) and Finland (18 November). The latter two games are in the Nations League.

Levitt, of course, is currently on loan at Charlton Athletic in League One.
