WHAT'S THE TEAM NEWS?

Manager Ten Hag announced his travelling squad earlier this week, with Fred, Tyrell Malacia and Rhys Bennett missing our Tour 2023 opener. Erik is set to address the media in the pre-match build-up on Friday, via a press conference that you will be able to see coverage of across ManUtd.com and the United App.

Goalkeeper Andre Onana may be in line to make his inaugural Reds appearance, having completed a move from Internazionale on Thursday, while new club captain Bruno Fernandes could lead the Reds out for the first time as our permanent skipper.

Arsenal have started building on their squad that just missed out on the Premier League title last season, announcing the signing of Kai Havertz from London rivals Chelsea.

West Ham captain Declan Rice has also joined the Gunners in recent weeks, while defender Jurrien Timber has also moved to last season's Premier League runners-up, after completing his move from Eredivisie side Ajax.

HEAD-TO-HEAD RECORD

Whether it is a friendly clash or one with high stakes, games between United and Arsenal are almost guaranteed to be enticing. The era of Ferguson v Wenger honed plenty of classic matches.

In recent years, spoils between the two have been back and forth. Arsenal got the better of the Reds in our latest clash, 3-2, with United winning the prior encounter at Old Trafford 3-1.

The campaign before last saw those same scorelines mirrored, though on that occasion it was the Reds who won 3-2 before suffering a 3-1 defeat away from home. Goals are rarely lacking in this fixture.

United’s record vs Arsenal
