Confirmed: United's squad for Tour 2023

Manchester United have named a 31-man travelling squad for Tour 2023, presented by Snapdragon, in the United States.

The Reds beat Lyon 1-0 in Edinburgh on Wednesday afternoon, with Donny van de Beek volleying home the only goal of the game.

As with last week's victory over Leeds, Erik ten Hag deployed a youthful squad at Murrayfield as United's returning internationals continue to work towards match fitness.

Those players, who have been training at Carrington, have now joined up with 15 of the Edinburgh group to travel over to the United States, where we launch our tour campaign on Saturday with a friendly against Arsenal at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

You can watch that game live on MUTV, as well as the following meetings with Wrexham (San Diego), Real Madrid (Houston) and Borussia Dortmund (Las Vegas).

New signing Mason Mount is on the plane as he continues to impress in a red shirt, while Antony and van de Beek returned from injury in Scotland and are also on the trip.

One player who hasn't made the flight is Fred.

The Brazilian has remained in the UK to deal with a personal issue, but he is expected to join up with the rest of the squad shortly.

Rhys Bennett and Tyrell Malacia have unfortunately had to miss out due to injury.

There's a good blend of youth and experience in the squad, with the likes of Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford - fresh from signing his new contract - joined by several Academy players.

Young goalkeeper Radek Vitek is one of four stoppers named in Ten Hag's selection, while Dan Gore and Kobbie Mainoo provide options in midfield after impressive performances so far in pre-season.

Alvaro Fernandez also gets the nod, as does Omari Forson, the forward who turns 19 on Thursday (20 July).

Goalkeepers: Nathan Bishop, Tom Heaton, Dean Henderson, Radek Vitek.

Defenders: Diogo Dalot, Alvaro Fernandez, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Raphael Varane, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Brandon Williams.

Midfielders: Amad, Antony, Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes, Dan Gore, Hannibal, Kobbie Mainoo, Scott McTominay, Mason Mount, Facundo Pellistri, Jadon Sancho, Donny van de Beek.

Forwards: Anthony Elanga, Omari Forson, Alejandro Garnacho, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford.

You can watch all senior men's pre-season matches live on MUTV.
