Jadon Sancho scores against Leicester City

How to watch and follow United v Leicester

Friday 17 February 2023 16:00

Manchester United return to Premier League action this weekend, as we take on Leicester City at Old Trafford on Sunday (14:00 kick-off).

The Reds come into the game following our exhilarating 2-2 draw with Barcelona in the Europa League on Thursday evening, with Marcus Rashford and a Jules Kounde own goal helping to secure a positive result at the Nou Camp, in the first leg of our play-off tie.

Erik ten Hag's side currently boast an impressive 16-game unbeaten run on home soil, with our last defeat in M16 coming back in September, against Real Sociedad in the Europa League group stages.

Ahead of the clash with Brendan Rodgers' side, here is everything you need to know regarding our next Premier League encounter...

HOW CAN YOU FOLLOW THE GAME?

Our clash with Leicester is set to be broadcast live on Sky Sports in the UK, with kick-off at Old Trafford scheduled for 14:00 GMT on Sunday.

In the run up to the first whistle, MUTV will be on air with exclusive build-up and post-match analysis, with coverage of our pre-match show set to begin at 12:55 GMT.

We’ll stay on air throughout the league encounter, providing you live radio commentary throughout the 90-minute fixture.

WHEN CAN YOU SEE THE HIGHLIGHTS?

TEAM NEWS

The Reds were without a number of key players in the first leg of our Europa League play-off with Barcelona. Those absentees included Antony, Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay.

Lisandro Martinez and Marcel Sabitzer were unavailable due to suspension, but are free to play this weekend. On the contrary, Casemiro returned for our trip to Spain but will miss Leicester’s visit as he serves the final game of his three-match domestic ban, following the red card he picked up against Crystal Palace.

Both Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek remain out after sustaining long-term injuries

As for our visitors, Boubakary Soumare could make his return against the Reds after a spell on the sidelines with a thigh injury. Youri Tielemans could also be a late call for Sunday, while James Justin and Jonny Evans remain out.

Lisandro Martinez will return after facing a mid-week suspension in the Europa League.

FORM GUIDE

Ten Hag’s men are in fine form heading into Sunday’s game and we have recorded five wins and two draws in all competitions since losing to Arsenal last month.

A compelling shift at Elland Road in our last league encounter ended in a 2-0 win, with Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho both on the scoresheet. All three points saw us extend the gap to fourth-placed Newcastle to four points.

It has been a hit-and-miss season for Leicester City so far. The Foxes have won seven, drawn three and lost 12 of their 22 games so far, leaving them in 13th place and six points above the relegation zone.

Our visitors have played seven league games since the conclusion of the World Cup in late December, and won just two in that run. Both victories have come in their last two games, however, allowing them to build confidence and momentum in the run-up to their appearance at Old Trafford on Sunday. The Foxes beat Aston Villa 4-2 at the start of the month, before thumping Spurs 4-1 after going a goal down last time out.
