That's after an impressive first-leg performance in Spain last week, which saw the Reds get the better of our opponents with goals from Elisabeth Terland, Melvine Malard and Julia Zigiotti.

The job isn't done though, and United will bid to complete it in front of our home fans, during Thursday's 20:00 GMT kick-off at the Progress With Unity Stadium in Leigh.

An exciting two-legged tie against German champions Bayern Munich will be the reward if we are successful.

Tickets are available for the game, and the Reds would appreciate your support in Leigh as we look to reach the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time.

If you can't get to the game, it will be shown live on Disney+, while we will also be streaming a live watchalong on the United Women YouTube channel, the club app and on ManUtd.com.

TEAM NEWS

Marc Skinner is expected to provide an update on United's recent absentees when he conducts his pre-match press conference at Carrington on Wednesday afternoon.

Malard - our Player of the Match in the first leg after getting a goal and two assists - missed Sunday's win over London City Lionesses as a precaution due to illness.

Anna Sandberg was also not involved in our last outing, after suffering a calf injury in the first leg, while Skinner has been hopeful that Fridolina Rolfo will be back from the knock that prevented her from playing in Madrid and again at the weekend.

Leah Galton and Ella Toone are dealing with longer-term injuries and will be continuing with their recoveries as the Reds prepare for Thursday's game.

The visitors, meanwhile, will be without defender Silvia Lloris, who ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee during the first leg. Winger Gio Garbelini sustained a serious injury during October's league-phase meeting between the sides, but made her comeback in last week's clash and could feature again.

FIRST-LEG REPORT

Last Thursday's encounter was the second meeting of the season between the clubs, after a Rolfo goal saw United beat Atleti 1-0 in October's league-phase meeting.

The sides were paired together again for the knockout play-offs, and the Reds rose to the challenge of our European knockout debut, repeating the triumphant feat.

Terland's third-minute strike got us off to the perfect start, and the Norwegian forward would have had two goals in the first eight minutes, if the offside flag didn't rule out her next attempt that also found the target.

After a period of pressure from the hosts, Malard doubled our lead just before half-time and Zigiotti completed the scoring with just under 10 minutes to go, after a brilliant Phallon Tullis-Joyce save that saw her tip a goalbound free-kick from former United midfielder Vilde Boe Risa onto the crossbar.

THE STATE OF PLAY ELSEWHERE

Three other knockout play-off second legs are also scheduled to take place on Thursday, with Arsenal hosting Belgian outfit OH Leuven at the same time as our game. The Gunners are returning to Borehamwood with a 4-0 advantage and look poised for an all-London clash with Chelsea in the last eight.

At 17:45 GMT, Juventus and Wolfsburg - two of our league-phase opponents - will look to break a 2-2 tie in Italy, for the right to face eight-time winners OL Lyonnes in the quarter-finals.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid welcome Paris FC to the Spanish capital at the same time. If the Madridistas can hold onto their lead in the tie following a 3-2 win in the first leg, it would set up an El Clasico duel with old foes Barcelona at the next stage.
