Tigers test for United Under-23s

Tuesday 27 July 2021 11:00

Manchester United's Under-23s have arranged a pre-season friendly against Hull City on Saturday.

The behind-closed-doors practice match will kick off at midday at the MKM Stadium, as lead coach Neil Wood looks to continue his side's preparations for the Premier League 2 campaign.

The boys have just finished a training camp in Scotland, which included a friendly win over Hibernian last weekend.

The youngsters are also in action tonight (Tuesday), with a 19:45 BST kick-off against Stalybridge Celtic at Bower Fold.

United legend Bryan Robson will be in attendance to unveil a plaque in honour of former coach Bert Whalley, who was tragically killed in the Munich Air Disaster in 1958.

Following this week's warm-up matches, the Under-23s face a trip to Kiddeminster on Friday 6 August.

The Premier League 2 season then begins in earnest with fixtures with Leicester City (Leigh Sports Village, Monday 16 August) and Chelsea (Stamford Bridge, Friday 20 August).

MUTV will be screening those league games live.
