Rasmus Hojlund scores for Denmark

Which Reds are on international duty?

Wednesday 20 March 2024 09:27

A number of Manchester United's players are away representing their countries during this break.

There have been some withdrawals but we look forward to seeing our Reds in action for their respective nations, before we return to Premier League action at Brentford on Saturday 30 March.

Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund have linked up with Denmark, ahead of their home friendlies with Switzerland and Faroe Islands, while Portugal star Bruno Fernandes could come up against Sweden skipper Victor Lindelof. Diogo Dalot is missing the opening fixture for Roberto Martinez's side in Guimaraes, but is set to be added to the squad for their second outing, in Slovenia.

The club is represented by three players in the England squad, after Kobbie Mainoo joined Harry Maguire and Marcus Rashford in Gareth Southgate's group, although Casemiro has been ruled out of meeting them with Brazil on Saturday. The Three Lions are also in action again at Wembley, against Belgium on Tuesday.

Mainoo drafted into senior England squad

Kobbie has been promoted to Gareth Southgate's group for friendlies with Brazil and Belgium.

Fresh from an assist and goal in the win over Liverpool, Scotland's men's Player of the Year Scott McTominay will be turning out against the Netherlands and Northern Ireland. Jonny Evans is unavailable for Northern Ireland, missing out on a clash with his Reds team-mate.

Another exciting call-up, like Mainoo's, is a first senior shout for Academy youngster James Scanlon, who has been promoted to the full Gibraltar squad. The 17-year-old midfielder is in the frame to participate in two UEFA Nations League games against Lithuania.

Goalkeeper Altay Bayindir withdrew from Turkey's squad, to play Hungary and Austria, due to injury.

Argentina are in the United States, facing El Salvador in Philadelphia and Costa Rica in Los Angeles.

Lisandro Martinez is linking up with the squad but will not play, as he continues his recovery from a knee injury. Alejandro Garnacho is set to feature as he looks to further his international experience.

Facundo Pellistri, currently on loan at Granada, is preparing for Uruguay's matches with the Basque Country and Ivory Coast, but there is no Amad in the latter's squad.

Sofyan Amrabat, an unused substitute against Liverpool, has been named in Morocco's group for their friendlies against Angola and Mauritania.

James Scanlon has received his first senior call-up for Gibraltar.
