Who is away on international duty?

Monday 02 June 2025 14:45

The international calendar takes centre stage in the coming days, with Manchester United set to be represented across the globe.

Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes have a UEFA Nations League semi-final to prepare for, as Portugal face Germany on Thursday night (20:00 BST kick-off).

The Allianz Arena encounter presents an opportunity for Roberto Martinez's men to push for more silverware after winning the inaugural event in 2018/19.

Nuno Tavares has been cut from the squad, leaving 26 players for Martinez to choose from, with Dalot making his comeback from injury in the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur.

The other last-four tie is between Spain and France, and takes place on Thursday night.

When is Cunha next in action?

Matheus is set for World Cup qualifying duty with Carlo Ancelotti's Brazil this week.

Manuel Ugarte is in World Cup qualifying action for Uruguay, as they prepare for ties against Paraguay and Venezuela, looking to improve on their third-placed standing in the South American table.

We have three players in the Brazil squad - Antony, Casemiro and Matheus Cunha - as Carlo Ancelotti's men also play in that section, with eagerly anticipated fixtures against Ecuador and Paraguay.

Antony has shone on loan at Real Betis, Casemiro has been recalled by his former boss at Real Madrid and Cunha is due to sign for the Reds, pending a visa and registration.

Altay Bayindir's Turkey have games with USA and Mexico in the United States, while Amad was selected in Ivory Coast's initial squad for the Canada Shield tournament.

Closer to home, our three Denmark internationals Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu, Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund have dates with Northern Ireland and Lithuania. Eriksen is due to leave Old Trafford when his contract expires.

Young striker Gabriele Biancheri has joined Canada's senior squad for a training camp.

Fellow Academy product James Scanlon is again included for Gibraltar, as they take on Croatia and Faroe Islands.

Victor Lindelof who, like Eriksen, is due to depart, had been selected as captain for Sweden but has not linked up with the squad, after missing our games in the Far East for personal resons.

"You know his situation at home, which is much more important than football," commented coach Jon Dahl Tomasson. "So we are keeping our fingers crossed that everything goes well."

Noussair Mazraoui misses Morocco's matches against Tunisia and Benin due to the injury he sustained in our final Premier League outing of the season, the 2-0 victory over Aston Villa.
