Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay continued his impressive goalscoring form at international level on Friday evening, as he claimed the opener for Scotland in their 3-0 win over Cyprus.

The United midfielder rose well at the back post to set the Tartan Army on their way to victory in Larnaca, notching his sixth goal in five qualifiers during UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying.

Ryan Porteus's scored Scotland's second shortly after with a well-taken finish, before our no.39 turned provider to set up Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn to make it 3-0, all during the first half.

From there, Steve Clarke's side pushed further to add to their advantage during the second period, with McTominay coming close to notching a second himself on two separate occasions.

Scotland are currently unbeaten in qualifying thus far having won all five of their qualifiers and sit top of Group A, with their next test an international friendly against England at Hampden Park on Tuesday evening (19:45 BST).

Elsewhere, Portugal took a huge step towards their own qualification for the 2024 European Championship in Germany, with a routine 1-0 victory over Slovakia as our very own Bruno Fernandes grabbed the only goal of the game.

The United captain burst forward from midfield before slamming his effort past former Reds' team-mate Martin Dubravka, as the Selecao won 1-0 in Bratislava.
With Bruno marking his 29th birthday in style, Portugal next face Luxembourg on Monday looking to continue their own 100 per cent record in qualifying so far.

Reds team-mate Diogo Dalot also played the full 90 minutes at right-back, keeping a clean sheet on his 13th outing for his country.

Furthermore, Turkey drew 1-1 Armenia in Eskisehir, with United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir an unused substitute.

Artak Dashyan's strike looked to have ensured victory for Armenia before Bertug Ozgur Yildrim netted a late leveller for the hosts.

Stefan Kuntz's side are next in action against Japan in a friendly on Tuesday afternoon (13:20 BST).
