Jadon Sancho makes United debut

Saturday 14 August 2021 15:25

Jadon Sancho made his Manchester United debut in the 5-1 win over Leeds United, capping off a superb day all-round.

The summer signing from Borussia Dortmund entered the fray with 15 minutes to play, replacing Daniel James, as the Reds basked in a four-goal lead over our Yorkshire rivals.

Bruno Fernandes netted a hat-trick for the Reds, with Mason Greenwood and Fred also finding the net. Luke Ayling scored a superb equaliser for Marcelo Bielsa's side just after the break, before we ran amok in front of the Stretford End.

Relive the moment Raphael Varane was unveiled as a Red, before our Old Trafford match against Leeds in 2021...

Although no further goals were added during Sancho's time on the pitch, it must have been a brilliant occasion for the 21-year-old, on what was an afternoon to savour for United fans generally.

The Old Trafford faithful, back in full capacity for the first time in 17 months, were treated to the sight of another fresh face prior to the game in Raphael Varane.

Varane's signing was announced just before kick-off, and the Frenchman was paraded out on the grass, much to the delight of the supporters in attendance.

We'll have to wait at least another week before we see the World Cup winner in a United shirt - but for Jadon, today is a day he'll always remember.
