Sancho: We stuck to the game plan

Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho hailed the Reds’ defensive efforts to secure a second successive clean sheet and a third Premier League win on the bounce, at Leicester.

Our no.25’s first-half effort at the other end was the difference in the scoreline, as United took all three points from the King Power Stadium, thanks to a 1-0 triumph.

Having taken the lead before the break, Erik ten Hag’s side had to dig in after the restart as the home side pushed for an equaliser in front of their home fans.

It didn’t come however, as the Reds weathered the storm with a resilient defensive showing to leave the East Midlands with all three points.

Sancho: I want to score as many as possible!

Goalscoring hero Jadon says maintaining this momentum is the next step for Ten Hag's Reds...

“We stuck to the game plan,” Sancho told MUTV after the final whistle, when asked about the defensive effort.

“We knew Leicester would come out fighting in the second half, and as you could see, they had a few chances towards the end.

“Leicester’s not easy but the team stuck at it, and we got the three points at the final whistle.”
Having worked hard off the ball throughout, gaps did open up for United to score more on the night but we couldn’t do so.

Sancho himself had more opportunities to grow his tally in the contest and admitted an individual determination to add more goals to his game, having netted his second of the campaign.

“I want to score as many goals as possible, but I have to keep on trying every time I get those opportunities.

“Hopefully, I can score next time.”

Jadon Sancho's first-half goal was enough to secure another three points on the road for the Reds.

The one was enough for the Reds on the night and the attention of Sancho and co. now turns to our next outing, with Arsenal the visitors to Old Trafford on Sunday.

And Jadon is keen to keep our hot streak in the Premier League going.

“We just have to keep up this momentum and keep on getting the three points every time we do.”
