Sancho revels in ‘big win’ over Liverpool
Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho expressed utter delight after Erik ten Hag’s side ran out 2-1 victors against Liverpool at Old Trafford on Monday night.
The dynamic forward opened the scoring in the first half, taking his time in the box to slot past Alisson, after skilfully fooling James Milner with a dummy.
“Once I chopped inside, I knew I just had to keep my cool” said the 22-year-old. “I’ve seen the gap and I’ve trusted myself, and I’ve finished it.
“You just have to compose yourself and be calm.”

In the dying stages of the match, United supporters could have done with taking some of Jadon’s advice, as Ten hag’s side defended a precarious 2-1 lead valiantly.
But despite their pressure, the visitors found themselves unable to breach our backline again, as United controlled possession and frustrated Jurgen Klopp’s side in professional fashion.
Following our first three-point haul of the season, Sancho was full of praise for United's performance.
“It was a big win,” he said. “Coming from last week’s performance [our 4-0 loss at Brentford] we knew that today we had to show desire and belief. I’m so glad we got the three points today.”
Ten Hag’s side also showed more dynamism than the previous week, and the Dutchman’s style of play is something our wide-man is relishing.
He said: “In pre-season we knew it was going to be intense. As players, we’re happy to play this style.
“We’re very young, we’re energetic so we can produce this type of performance. It’s about keeping this momentum [now].”
