Jadon Sancho working hard ahead of joining United squad
Jadon Sancho is eagerly awaiting the start of his Manchester United career and is spending his holiday training hard ahead of the new season.
Clearly keen to make an impression, the 21-year-old completed his move to United earlier this month after playing his part in England's journey to the Euro 2020 final.
Sancho, and the four other United players to reach a major international final this summer, will join the rest of the squad for pre-season training soon.
Speaking to club media after his move, Sancho spoke about his excitement for the new season, which kicks off on 14 August against Leeds United.
“Yes, definitely, I’m excited for the new season,” the London-born forward said.
“Especially as the first game is at home. That’s always a confidence booster – to be in front of your own fans – so it will be nice.”
The anticipation is certainly building all around the club. After the signing of Sancho, the thrilling performances of Anthony Elanga and Facundo Pellistri in pre-season and the agreement of a deal for Raphael Varane, players, coaches and fans alike are desperate for the season to get underway. That it's Leeds, as Jadon says, on the opening day of the season, and at home, makes it all the better.
