Lingard has the 'bit between his teeth'
Although disappointed by the defeat, Jesse Lingard was pleased to be back among the goals during Manchester United’s 4-2 loss to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday afternoon.
In just the third minute of the first half, Mason Greenwood passed to Facundo Pellistri and the Uruguayan worked it into the path of Lingard, who executed a neat finish to score.
A lively and competitive match ensued as a much more experienced QPR side fought back to earn a 4-1 lead against our youthful Reds, before substitute Anthony Elanga pulled a goal back late on.
As you can see below, Lingard reacted to the game on Twitter by posting: “Despite the loss we keep building and progressing. Good to be back amongst the goals.”
United legend Andy Cole watched the match in his role as a pundit for MUTV and the Treble winner spoke positively about Lingard’s performance at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.
“I think his work rate can become infectious. He is putting himself about, getting in the right areas - and getting himself a goal as well.”
United’s next match is against Brentford at Old Trafford on Wednesday and tickets are still available, so what are you waiting for? Book your seats now to cheer on the Reds.
