Joe Hugill has joined Burton Albion, of League One, on loan until the end of the 2023/24 season.

The young Academy striker signed a new deal with the Reds on Wednesday, which will keep him at the club until 2026, with the option of an extra year.

Hugill will now gain valuable experience at the Pirelli Stadium, as part of a Brewers squad under the charge of Martin Paterson, who was appointed as their new head coach earlier this week.

Academy striker Joe Hugill has committed his future to United with a fresh deal.

Joe has trained regularly with the first team this season, being named as a substitute by Erik ten Hag on four occasions, most recently for Monday's 2-0 Emirates FA Cup victory at Wigan Athletic.

He initially joined United from Sunderland in the summer of 2020 and was part of the squad which won the FA Youth Cup two seasons ago.

The 20-year-old has eight goals in all competitions for Travis Binnion's Under-21s this term and will hope to continue his recent progress in the third tier, with Burton currently placed 17th in the table.

Albion, who are negotiating their sixth straight season in League One, face high-flying neighbours Derby County on Monday night.
