Zelem leaves United Women
Manchester United Women can today confirm that midfielder Katie Zelem will depart the club, following the conclusion of her contract.
Katie joined United as part of our inaugural professional side in 2018 and went on to win the FA Women’s Championship title that same season.
The England midfielder was made captain in her second campaign with the club and made a total of 161 appearances as a Red, scoring 32 goals.
Katie Zelem: One of our own
Our emotional video pays tribute to Katie Zelem, whose time as a Red has come to an end…
Katie was a key part of our record-breaking 2022/23 term as we finished second in the WSL, securing Champions League qualification for the first time, and reaching a maiden FA Cup final.
As captain of Manchester United Women, Katie made history by lifting our first major trophy when we beat Tottenham 4-0 at Wembley in the Women’s FA Cup final in May.
Katie’s international honours include 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup runner-up and Arnold Clark Cup winner in 2022 and 2023.
Everyone at Manchester United would like to place on record their thanks to Katie for her excellent service and wish her the best of luck in the next phase of her career
