Yoro excited by United challenge

The teenager sealed a move from Lille last week and made his first appearance in the 2-0 friendly win over Rangers in Edinburgh, performing with his customary style and composure.

As Tour 2024, presented by Snapdragon, offers fresh tests, in the shape of Arsenal, Real Betis and Liverpool, the centre-back has admitted in his first major interview with club media that the Premier League has a special lure for him, because it is the best league on the planet.

"Yeah, for me, this is the biggest championship in the world," he told us. "For me, the Premier League… this is where the football fully exists. So the fans, the level – because the level is crazy there, there is not an easy game - and, for me, the Premier League is the biggest in the world."

Yoro will hopefully soon get a taste of what top-flight football feels like at Old Trafford, with the Reds opening the season with a Friday night home game against Fulham on 16 August. 

The opportunity to represent the Reds was something he could not refuse, and the appeal of playing in front of our passionate fans cannot be underestimated.

"It's crazy," he enthused. "This is a historic stage and I'm just really excited to play at Old Trafford, to be honest. So, yeah, this is incredible. I already imagined me on the pitch. I was with my family there, and they were impressed too. So, yeah, we took a lot of photos!

"You know, it's one of the biggest stadiums in the world.

"To be honest, I'm really happy to be here. I'm really happy to play for this team and I'm really excited to see you in Old Trafford."
