Read on to learn about each strike.

DILLON HOOGEWERF V LEEDS (U18s)

The talented Dutch youngster found space in the box to nod home Charlie McNeill’s centre, in Neil Ryan’s side’s 4-2 win over Leeds in Yorkshire.

ANTHONY ELANGA (2) V DERBY (U23s)

The first of Elanga’s two nominated strikes this month lit up the Under-23s’ 6-2 win over Derby at Loughborough. Receiving the ball on the far left of the box, the 19-year-old dribbled inside, evading several Rams defenders before finding the far corner.

DILLON HOOGEWERF (3) V MIDDLESBROUGH (U18s)

Hoogewerf completed his hat-trick in the 8-1 drubbing of the Teessiders, receiving the ball in behind and slotting past Max Metcalfe.

MASON GREENWOOD V ASTON VILLA

With United on the comeback trail after Bruno Fernandes’s equalising penalty at Villa, Greenwood showed his class. The teenager had his back to goal when receiving Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s pass, but an imperceptible feint and a swing of the left boot later, the ball was resting in the back of the net.

April’s winner Edinson Cavani is one of three nominees – but will he retain his crown against some stiff competition?

ELLA TOONE V EVERTON (WOMEN)

Toone set the Reds on the way to victory in our final WSL game of the campaign, arriving late at the far post to volley home Christen Press’s cross.

HANNIBAL V DERBY (U23s)

It was a great month for the young midfielder, who went on to make his first-team debut at Wolves in the final game of the Premier League season. He certainly made his mark on this encounter, curling in from 25 yards to give the Reds the lead.

MASON GREENWOOD V LEICESTER

With United rotating the side just two days before the visit of Liverpool, Greenwood was the sole survivor in the line-up and made his relative experience count by finding the far corner to level the scores.

JANE ROSS V LEICESTER (WOMEN)

The final United goal scored under the management of Casey Stoney, and what an effort it was. Ross played a neat one-two with Ona Batlle and then whipped a left-footed shot in at the keeper’s near post.

EDINSON CAVANI V FULHAM

As if this one needed any introduction. On the day United fans returned to Old Trafford after 14 long months, Edi conjured one of the moments of the season, latching on to Bruno Fernandes’s through ball before lobbing Alphonse Areola from a full 40 yards.

ANTHONY ELANGA V WOLVES

“It's a brilliant day. I'm never gonna forget my debut, never mind forget this goal either!” Elanga said after heading United in front at Molineux. Daniel James’s laser-accurate cross was powered home by the Swedish teenager and it was some connection considering it was the first header he’d scored for the club.
