Liverpool v United will be rescheduled

Wednesday 02 March 2022 22:07

Manchester United's March schedule has been affected by the midweek action in the Emirates FA Cup - specifically Liverpool's home fifth-round clash with Norwich City.

The Merseyside club's reward for beating the Canaries 2-1 is a quarter-final tie, to be played on the weekend when they were due to host United in the Premier League.

Our visit to Anfield had been provisionally scheduled for Sunday 20 March but a new date will now have to be found for one of the biggest league fixtures in English football. This will be announced on ManUtd.com and the United App in due course.
The need to rearrange the Liverpool trip means the last match for Ralf Rangnick's side this month will be against Atletico Madrid, at Old Trafford, on Tuesday 16 March at 20:00 GMT.

When that eagerly awaited second leg of our Champions League last-16 tie is concluded, the Reds will be without a game until Saturday 2 April, when Leicester City come to M16 for a Premier League fixture kicking off at 17:30 BST.

Another consequence of Norwich's FA Cup defeat to Liverpool means they should now be able to visit United in the Premier League around the weekend of 16/17 April, given they will not be involved in the Wembley semi-finals which fall on those dates.

Live TV selections for the second half of April will not be made until after the FA Cup quarter-final draw has taken place this Thursday evening, so the dates and times of our league meetings with the Canaries and Brentford at home, and top-four rivals Arsenal away, are not yet confirmed.
