Loan watch: Dalot nets in Milan win

Diogo Dalot starred in AC Milan’s 2-0 victory over Hellas Verona at the weekend, and the on-loan Manchester United defender even grabbed his first Serie A goal.

The Portuguese youngster, who joined Milan on a temporary basis in October, played at left-back in the Rossoneri’s win on Sunday, and scored the second of the game just five minutes into the second period.

Dalot has been in and out of the Milan side so far this season, playing 20 games in all competitions. The full-back has also featured in every one of the Rossoneri’s Europa League games this term and could line up for the Serie A side when they travel to Old Trafford on Thursday for the first leg of our last-16 tie.

Staying in Italy, Andreas Pereira came on in the latter stages of Lazio’s 3-1 defeat to Juventus at the weekend. The Academy graduate has struggled to hold down a place in Simone Inzaghi’s side of late and hasn’t started a league game since the beginning of December.
Andreas has made 22 appearances for Lazio this season.
Elsewhere on the continent, Facundo Pellistri made his first start for Deportivo Alaves on Monday, as the Basque club fell to a 3-2 loss at the hands of Real Betis.

The winger played 66 minutes in the game and operated on the left flank. Pellistri joined Alaves on loan in January and came off the bench in their two previous league games, before being handed a starting berth against Betis. The Uruguayan looks set to be involved in a relegation battle this season, with the club currently two points off safety in La Liga.
Another on-loan Red who impressed on Monday was Jesse Lingard. The midfielder has become a mainstay in the West Ham United side since his mid-season switch to the London Stadium.

Jesse once again scored for the Hammers in their 2-0 victory over Leeds United, that’s four goals and two assists for the 28-year-old since his move to the capital.

Lingard earned a first-half penalty in the win over Leeds, which he subsequently took and saw saved, before casually following up to knock in the rebound. Of course, West Ham make the trip north to face United this weekend, but Lingard will be ineligible to play against his parent club.
Jesse converted at the second time of asking against Leeds.
Further down the football pyramid, James Garner was once again in action for Nottingham Forest as they took on Watford, where the midfielder spent the first half of the season on loan.

Chris Hughton’s side went down 1-0 to the Hornets, with Garner playing the full 90 minutes. The teenager is continuing to impress in the East Midlands, and has played in each of Forest’s last nine games.
Garner came up against his former side at the weekend.
Ethan Laird made a brief return to Greater Manchester at the weekend when his MK Dons side lost 3-0 to Wigan Athletic, with the defender playing the full 90 minutes.

United youngster Di'Shon Bernard helped Salford City to a 1-1 draw against Scunthorpe United – the defender has missed just two of the club’s last 22 league games and is continuing to show his quality in League Two.

Finally, Tahith Chong registered an assist for the third league game in a row on Sunday. The winger is currently at Club Brugge and Chong played 66 minutes in the 3-0 win over Zulte Waregem.
