Lucy Staniforth departs United Women

Monday 09 January 2023 11:00

Manchester United can confirm that midfielder Lucy Staniforth has joined fellow Barclays Women’s Super League side Aston Villa on a permanent transfer.

The England international joined United in 2020 and made her competitive debut in our 3-0 home league win over Brighton and Hove Albion in October of that same year. Lucy scored her first goal for the club in our 6-0 FA Cup away victory at Burnley in April 2021.

The midfielder went on to make 41 appearances in all competitions as a Red, scoring three goals in the process.

Everyone at the club would like to thank Lucy for her service and wish her the best of luck for the future.
