Shaw and Mount reveal focus ahead of Liverpool
Luke Shaw and Mason Mount have both declared the need for "consistency" ahead of our Premier League meeting with Liverpool.
The trip to Anfield marks the end of the October international break, and a chance to build on a 2-0 win over Sunderland, last time out.
Mount notched the opener in that game, a perfectly placed two-touch finish just inside the box with only eight minutes played, later added to by Benjamin Sesko's second-ever United goal.
In a dual interview with his United colleague Shaw, the midfielder expressed the need to use that win as a platform to kick on and build some momentum.
"It's really important to be consistent if you want to win games," Mount declared. "We're a little bit too up and down at times, so that's also something that we need to address and really improve on."
Shaw concurred: "The most important thing is consistency.
"I think, at the moment, we're winning one game and losing the next, and I think it's been like that for a while now.
"We spoke about it a lot, on building good momentum and about winning games. I think the most important thing is winning games and getting the points."
Arne Slot's side stand in our way of stepping towards that consistency, but still in search of our first away win in the league this season, it's sure to be a tough task on Merseyside.
"I think that away form is something that we'll continue to look at," Mount admitted. "I think our home form has been really good, we've been really solid at home, confident going into the games.
"I think away, we've let games slip a little bit, conceded goals at a difficult time, and it's hard to get back into the game, especially away from home.
"So, I think that's definitely something we can look at."

ArticleUnited return from the international break with a huge game at Anfield – here's everything you need to know.
Although widely tipped as favourites to win the league before the campaign kicked off, we may be meeting our rivals from along the M62 at an opportune moment.
They're on a run of three losses in their last three outings in all competitions, one of which against the Chelsea side that we defeated at Old Trafford last month.
Shaw believes any win in L4, against our rivals, would have a big impact back at Carrington. He said: "Sometimes performances don't matter if you're winning games. I think winning games is always a better feeling, especially around the place.
"The energy, the whole morale of the team is always better when you're winning games, so I think, for me, that's the base we need to build on, consistency."
