Shaw pinpoints one area to be delighted with

Luke Shaw felt Manchester United defended our box really well, when getting over the line against Chelsea.

Bruno Fernandes prodded the Reds ahead, after Robert Sanchez was sent off for the visitors, and Casemiro's header put Ruben Amorim's men firmly in the driving seat.

Casemiro's second yellow card evened things up at 10 v 10 and the Blues gradually grew into the game before reducing the arrears with a header by Trevoh Chalobah.

Thankfully, United held out to take maximum points, and it was a welcome conclusion for experienced left-sided central defender Shaw.

Amorim hails aggressive start

Delve into Ruben's post-match assessment after the Reds' vital victory over the west Londoners.

"It was massive, I think we spoke a lot about the game and before the game about winning, that was the most important thing today," Shaw told Sky Sports following our victory.

"It was making sure that we win and getting the three points. I think, in the second half, you could see how desperately we wanted to win and get the three points.

"We kind of just sat back and took a lot of pressure from them. But, you know, I think the lads and the whole team defended well. We're really happy with the three points."

When asked if the team showed the aggression the boss demands, the defender replied: "Yeah, I think so.

"We started the game really well, really sharp, really physical. We put them under a lot of pressure in the first five and 10 minutes and obviously that then brings the mistake from them.

"We know we can punish teams more with the chances we've created but, definitely defensively, we were much better defending in the box. We're very pleased."
