Shaw injury update

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag says Luke Shaw must be assessed after being substituted in the first half of the game against Brentford.

The left-back had performed with real purpose during the 37 minutes he was on the field, despite picking up a yellow card, but the England international was forced to come off, a little out of the blue.

He headed straight down the tunnel after a brief consultation with the manager, with the hope that there was an element of precaution.

Tyrell Malacia took his place as the Reds got back to winning ways in the Premier League with a 1-0 victory, courtesy of Marcus Rashford's first-half strike.

Ten Hag highlights his star performers, in his analysis of United's 1-0 win over Brentford...

"In this moment, I can't give something about it because we have to wait for 24 hours," Ten Hag told MUTV's Stewart Gardner, after the important win over the Bees at Old Trafford.

"Then you can make the right diagnosis. So I don't want to comment in this moment."

Later, at his press conference, the boss reiterated his stance, stating: "I can't say in this moment. I wait for tomorrow what is the diagnosis. I took him straight off and didn't want to risk [it]. But we have to wait for the outcome."

Our no.23 made his 250th appearance for the club in the week he signed a new long-term deal with the Reds.

Let's hope the problem is not too serious with Everton next on the horizon, as the Toffees are coming to Old Trafford for a 12:30 BST kick-off on Saturday.
