Revealed: United's Man of the Match

Sunday 04 April 2021 23:19

Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood was voted as our Man of the Match following his crucial headed winner against Brighton & Hove Albion.

The rapid Academy graduate, whose 83rd-minute header proved decisive, received 32 per cent of the votes in our Official App after our 2-1 win over the Seagulls.

Greenwood’s instinctive reaction to a Paul Pogba volley and a lethal headed finish made sure the Reds picked up three vital Premier League points against Graham Potter’s side.

Our no. 11 also went close to scoring on two earlier occasions, including a shot that hit the post just before Danny Welbeck’s first-half opener.

Runner-up in the voting was Bruno Fernandes who played a vital role in both goals, particularly Marcus Rashford’s opener, for which our Portuguese playmaker had the penultimate touch.

Making up the podium was the aforementioned goalscorer Rashford, who slotted in our equaliser with a delicate side-footed finish into the bottom corner, just past the hour-mark.
