Old Trafford Megastore set to reopen

Thursday 11 June 2020 21:30

Visitors will be welcomed back to the official Manchester United Megastore from Monday 15 June, with a variety of measures in place to protect the health of customers and staff.

Our Old Trafford store has been closed since March as part of UK-wide measures to limit the spread of coronavirus.

The government has now given the go-ahead for the reopening of non-essential retailers from 15 June provided that social distancing measures are in place.

In line with that guidance, we are taking a series of steps to ensure that visitors can return to the Megastore in comfort and safety, while keeping our staff members safe.

These include:

  • A limit on the number of customers allowed in store at any one time, to ensure that people can remain two metres apart. This may mean that customers have to wait before entering.
  • Our team will ensure that shopping baskets are cleaned before and after each use and hand sanitiser will be available for use by customers at multiple points within the store.
  • Changing rooms will be closed but we are extending our returns period to 90 days.
  • Our name-printing service will only be available for shirts bought in-store at the time of purchase.
  • Only card payments will be accepted to avoid the need for cash handling.
Opening hours will be 10:00-17:00 BST Monday to Saturday, and 11:00-17:00 BST on Sunday. The Megastore will be closed on days when matches are taking place behind closed doors at Old Trafford.

The Museum and Stadium Tour, and the Red Cafe will remain closed until further notice, in line with government guidelines.

James Holroyd, United’s Director of Merchandising, said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming supporters back to the Megastore and are committed to providing a safe environment for our customers and staff.

“We encourage visitors to pay close attention to signage within the store and follow advice from staff to ensure that everyone can shop in comfort and safety.”
