Update: United Women reveal pre-season schedule
Manchester United Women have announced pre-season plans ahead of the forthcoming Barclays Women’s Super League season.
Fixtures for the 2024/25 WSL were announced on Monday, with Marc Skinner’s side starting at home against West Ham on the weekend of 21/22 September.
Non-international players returned to Carrington on Monday for two days of testing before the group heads to St. George’s Park, where we will begin training at the elite facilities provided by the national football centre.

Head coach Marc Skinner said:
“St. George’s Park will offer an excellent training base to start our pre-season preparations, allowing our players and staff to utilise world-class facilities, as we begin our build-up to the start of the WSL.”
Following a few weeks using all the elite facilities that St. George’s Park has to offer, the squad will then return to Carrington, where they will have full access to the former men’s gym and utilise the newly refurbished dedicated women’s pitches to continue pre-season preparations.
Players who were called up for international duty during the recent bout of European Championship qualifiers and friendlies will not report back until early August.
Thirteen of United Women’s players were enlisted for international duty over the summer, for seven different nations.
Eleven of these will come back in August, but Jayde Riviere and Hinata Miyazawa – who are representing Canada and Japan, respectively, in the Olympics – will join back up at a later date.
At the beginning of September, the team will then jet out to Marbella to spend a week at the Marbella Football Center – a facility which is regularly used by elite men’s and women’s teams.
The men’s side trained there back in 2020, where they utilised the full elite facilities for warm-weather training.

“The Marbella Football Center will present a great opportunity for all our players and staff to be together, and finalise preparations ahead of a busy WSL campaign.”
