The preparations are complete, with Manchester United’s pre-season done and all attention now turned towards next Monday’s Premier League opener against Wolves.

Before we get too focused on the return of the top flight, it's a good time to review the past month or so of action.

So, here’s our breakdown of the Reds’ summer in numbers…

That’s the number of different countries United played in across pre-season. The summer programme kicked off with a visit to our friends in Norway, before the Reds played at Scotland’s Murrayfield Stadium for the first time. The bulk of the work was done in the United States, with four matches occurring across the pond, before back-to-back tests at the weekend, against Lens in Manchester and Athletic Club in Dublin, Ireland.

Erik ten Hag’s men scored a dozen times across the eight summer matches, with the 2-0 reverse to Real Madrid in Houston the only time we failed to trouble the opposition keeper. The goals were spread across 11 Reds – Antony was the player who netted twice, during games against Borussia Dortmund and Lens.

United fielded that many players during pre-season, with the younger sides put out by Ten Hag against Leeds, Lyon and Wrexham significantly boosting the overall tally. New signings Mason Mount and Andre Onana enjoyed their first experiences of playing in a United shirt, while Nathan Bishop and Charlie Savage were able to say their farewells before departing on permanent transfers. In alphabetical order, here’s every Red who kicked a ball - deep breath…

Our pre-season schedule involved a significant amount of travelling in a relatively short space of time – just 25 days separated United v Leeds in Norway and the draw against Athletic Club in Dublin. The US leg alone required around 10 hours of internal flying, on top of the two cross-Atlantic journeys and that contributed to over 14,000 miles of travel – taking in distances between the eight destinations. It’s all part and parcel of spreading the Reds experience worldwide.

Finally, that’s the combined attendance of all eight games – not a bad effort for pre-season! Five matches saw gates of 50,000 people plus, including the 2-0 victory over Arsenal in New Jersey. Over 82,000 supporters crammed into the MetLife Stadium to take in that encounter, settled by first-half goals from Bruno Fernandes and Jadon Sancho.
