United and Maybank launch new co-branded credit card in Indonesia

Manchester United and Maybank have today (18/5) further strengthened their partnership with the launch of their latest co-branded credit card in Indonesia.

In 2023, Manchester United and Maybank announced the extension of their successful 13-year partnership into Indonesia – adding a fourth ASEAN country to their existing co-branded products available to customers in Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines. 

The Maybank Indonesia credit card will feature an image of United’s iconic home, Old Trafford, and provide the millions of Indonesian Manchester United fans with exclusive rewards, offers and discounts on United-related products. 

Speaking at the launch for the co-branded credit card in Jakarta, Steffano Ridwan, Director of Community Financial Services and Acting President Director of Maybank Indonesia, said: “Maybank Manchester United Credit Card is one of our mass lines of credit card alongside with our existing credit cards range and will become novelty to soccer aficionados of Manchester United in a country known to have high fan base, Indonesia.

“The launch of the Maybank Manchester United Credit Card is one of the Bank's strategies to expand its customer base of mass segments as well as potential customers who dear soccer sport, especially the Manchester United fans. On the other hand, the launch of credit cards is also in line with the mission, ‘Humanising Financial Services’.”

Maybank currently dominates the cards business in Malaysia, with over 14 million credit cards, charge cards, and debit cards in circulation. The bank commands over 20% of the market share for credit and charge cards in the country and over 28% for debit cards. 

This latest collaboration will play a pivotal role in enhancing Maybank’s profile in Indonesia and supporting the growth of both its credit and debit card range through innovative engagement with potential and existing customers.

Maybank Manchester United Credit Card comes with attractive privileges such as up to triple TREATS Point and free annual fee for life with minimum spend IDR12 million annually.

Other Manchester United-related benefits include up to 10X TREATS Point on every Manchester United winning match day, a 20% discount for Museum & Stadium Tours of Old Trafford using tickets bought at the Museum, and a 10% discount for food and beverages in the Red Café at Old Trafford.
