Ten Hag names team to take on Cadiz

Wednesday 07 December 2022 16:30

Erik ten Hag has named his Manchester United side for the first of our two winter friendlies in Spain, against Cadiz.

The game, which will be shown live on MUTV, ManUtd.com and the United App, will kick off at 19:00 GMT. It's the team's first outing since the dramatic Premier League victory at Fulham on 13 November, when Alejandro Garnacho scored a superb injury-time winner.

The Argentina Under-20 international starts at the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla, most likely on the left wing, with Anthony Elanga on the other flank, supporting central striker Anthony Martial.

Brandon Williams make his first appearance of the season, after recovering from injury, and is set to start at left-back, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka also available again and in the line-up.

Teden Mengi plays alongside Victor Lindelof at the heart of the defence and Martin Dubravka keeps goal, with David De Gea not involved.

Zidane Iqbal and Donny van de Beek are included in midfield, with their positions possibly interchangeable, while captain Scott McTominay can anchor things in the engine room.

There are likely to be a number of substitutions in the second half as Erik takes a close look at his squad.
