United offer free travel for Astana trip following Thomas Cook insolvency

Friday 01 November 2019 13:00

Manchester United will charter an aircraft for the upcoming UEFA Europa League fixture in Astana and will be inviting supporters who have proof of booking with Thomas Cook to travel free of charge.

Along with other Premier League clubs, Thomas Cook Sports had been travel partners with Manchester United. They had pre-sold a small number of tickets and hospitality for a number of home matches this season, along with travel packages to the Astana UEFA Europa League away leg.

A club spokesperson said: “We have been working through a range of contingency plans to minimise the impact of the Thomas Cook situation for our supporters.
The Reds will meet FC Astana again on Thursday 28 November, this time in Kazakhstan.
"We are pleased to be able to confirm that Manchester United will be operating a complimentary trip to the forthcoming match against FC Astana in Kazakhstan for those who were impacted by the insolvency of Thomas Cook.

“Beyond the Astana fixture, we are investigating longer term options around facilitating European travel for our loyal fans.”
The flight will depart on the evening of Wednesday 27 November, returning immediately after the game. Fans who had booked with Thomas Cook and still wish to travel to Astana away, should email their PDF booking confirmation to tickets@manutd.co.uk before 12:00 GMT on Monday 4 November.

Other fans that have been successful in obtaining tickets should register their interest by emailing tickets@manutd.co.uk before 12:00 GMT on Tuesday 5 November.

We do not anticipate spare capacity for supporters who have not been allocated tickets through the official fan ballot.
