Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Confirmed: Ole's team to take on Tottenham

Wednesday 04 December 2019 18:30

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made four changes to his Manchester United side to face Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford, from the 2-2 home draw with Aston Villa last Sunday.

All outfield departments see alterations to the XI with the Reds boss bringing Ashley Young back into defence at the expense of Brandon Williams.

Young has not played in the last four matches after being suspended for one game against Brighton last month. He has also been given the captain’s armband back; Harry Maguire had been deputising in the skipper’s role.

There are two changes in midfield. Scott McTominay is fit again after damaging his ankle against Brighton and Jesse Lingard starts, while Juan Mata and Andreas Pereira, who both played against Villa, make way.

Williams, Andreas and Mata are all on the bench against Jose Mourinho’s new club.
Greenwood will start a Premier League game for only the second time,
Anthony Martial had to come off after 82 minutes against Villa on Sunday with a muscular problem and is not in the matchday squad for the Spurs clash. His place in attack goes to 18-year-old Mason Greenwood, who makes his first Premier League start of this season and only his second overall.

Greenwood has come on as a substitute 11 times in the league this season, scoring once. His other starts this term have come in the Europa League and Carabao Cup and he has four goals to his name in all competitions.
