Fans celebrate United’s return to Oslo
Hundreds of Manchester United fans came together in Oslo for a special pre-match event on Tuesday night, on the eve of our pre-season opener against Leeds United.
Erik ten Hag’s side are in town to kick off our summer schedule and will face our old Yorkshire rivals at Norway’s Ullevaal Stadion at 16:00 BST – a game that you can watch live on MUTV.
Ahead of the fixture, and the Reds’ return to the Norwegian capital for the fourth time since 2017, a buoyant fan gathering took place in the area’s United stronghold, arranged by our Scandinavian supporters' club.

Wes Brown, Andy Cole and John O'Shea were all in attendance at a buoyant fan event on the eve of our game in Oslo...
The Scotsman pub in Oslo has become a popular place for our Scandinavia-based fans to come together and watch the Reds on a regular basis, and on this occasion, it was the host to the perfect appetiser ahead of Wednesday’s proceedings.
Those in attendance began to gather at the location before midday local time and the party carried on through to the evening, when a stellar cast of former Reds stars were among those to provide the entertainment.
Shortly after, journalist Andy Mitten hosted a Q&A with Andy Cole, which featured our ex-striker looking back on his United days, the Treble-winning season, and providing his thoughts on Ten Hag's team.
Throughout the night, the crowd were also able to join in on singing some favourites from the terraces with Manchester-based singer Ryan Jarvis, and they had the opportunity to win prizes in a raffle draw.
‘The passion for United is amazing’
ArticleJournalist Andy Mitten is delighted to see the Reds back in Norway, a place with a sincere love for the club.
“It’s great. I’ve been meaning to come for a very long time, and we got invited, myself and Sheasy,” he told MUTV.
“The fans, over the years, have been crazy from Norway, so it’s good to be in Oslo and get the chance to see them all.”
O’Shea echoed those sentiments, with those in attendance making a particular impression on him, with their support for United.
“I’ve got to know some of the guys involved in the supporters’ club in Oslo and Norway and it’s incredible passion they have,” our former defender added.
“To see the turnout, the crowd behind it, it’s brilliant to see and just shows the loyalty from the fans is top class.”
“When people get together to support, whether it’s arrangements like this tonight, great people coming in, there’s a lot of pre-planning and it’s brilliant,” one supporter in attendance told us.
“But the main thing is the love for this football club, it has been the most magnificent club, and everyone here just wants to do it for the club.”
