10 fan comments that sum up Amrabat's full debut

Wednesday 27 September 2023 14:09

It’s fair to say Sofyan Amrabat impressed Manchester United fans on Tuesday night.

Our loan signing from Fiorentina made his full debut in the Carabao Cup third-round win over Crystal Palace, playing at left-back in the first half before moving into midfield after the break.

Supporters at Old Trafford showed their appreciation for his authoritative, creative and hard-working performance across 60 minutes. Amrabat was substituted after an hour as Erik ten Hag carefully manages his workload and everyone is looking forward to seeing him again.

“I think it was a perfect night,” he said. “We played very well and, most importantly, we won 3-0. I played one hour, so I think it was perfect. Since I was a child I worked for this. I worked very hard for my whole career and life, so it was amazing to play here. Today is a Tuesday and the stadium was full, it is fantastic.”

WHAT THE FANS ARE SAYING

On our official Facebook page, we asked fans what they thought of Amrabat's performance and the feedback was entirely positive.

Here are just 10 of our favourite comments...

Mulero Abidemi Ezekiel: Amrabat brings more balance to the team. Going forward and defending. A very good addition.

Muideen Olalekan Olagunju: This is the guy that will bring the best out of Casemiro and Bruno. He will also be a veritable mentor to Hannibal as a midfield terrier and enforcer.

Vicky Lea Cooke: He was excellent. Literally covered the entire pitch! I love players who can play in different positions. Looked very comfortable too.

Gershwin Gibbo Philander: True baller. He has so much time on the ball and his defensive organisation is great.

Christian Daukoru: The missing piece in our midfield.

Mark John Terry: If it wasn't for Casemiro being class last night he would have been Man of the Match. Very good performance.

Andrew Newton: This guy is a great signing. He and Casemiro totally controlled the game last night and you could see the confidence in the rest of the team knowing they have two world-class players playing alongside them. The season starts now for us and we will kick on.

Shaun Stafford: Dominated the middle. Scrapped for every ball. Good awareness. He needs to be fully fit and he’ll be awesome.

Simon Clarke: Very impressed and especially for his first full appearance. Loving the free role he was given and how he was able to make such an impact. The entire team was united!
