Monday’s training group explained

Manchester United took to the Carrington training pitches on Monday, following our 2-1 away triumph at Everton on Sunday evening.

With the fixture being played at the later kick-off time of 19:00 BST, United's first team undertook a recovery session at Carrington.

This meant some of our younger players were also given the opportunity to be involved, with Facundo Pellistri, Zidane Iqbal and Alejandro Garnacho present following their inclusion in last week's trip to Cyprus.

Sam Murray, Kobbie Mainoo and Joe Hugill were just three of the players from United’s Academy pictured in our training gallery.

Luke Shaw, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez were all smiles as they passed the ball between one another and did some fitness work, while Casemiro was also pictured following his Man-of-the-Match win on Merseyside.

Goalkeepers Martin Dubravka and Tom Heaton were among the first-team players involved in Monday’s session too, being put through their paces with a series of intense goalkeeping workouts.

One Red who was certainly feeling delighted on Monday was Cristiano Ronaldo, following his remarkable 700th club career goal, which he scored against the Toffees.

The Portuguese star was surprised by his team-mates at the training ground too, being presented with a United shirt adorned with the number 700 on the back.

Ronaldo posed with his team-mates for an iconic photo, and expressed his joy on social media, after adding yet another individual accolade to his impressive resume.

The striker posted on social media after hitting yet another career landmark, on Sunday against Everton.

The Reds will train in front of the media on Wednesday, as we prepare for the visit of Omonia in the Europa League.

As always, highlights, images and updates from Carrington will be available for your enjoyment on ManUtd.com and the United App as Ten Hag's side look for a third straight win in all competitions.
