Receiving a pass from Bruno Fernandes inside the Arsenal half, the Reds' no.10 still had work to do but after cleverly nutmegging Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey, he unleashed an effort that flew past Aaron Ramsdale to hand us the initial lead in our eventual 3-2 defeat.

It was his first-ever strike at the Emirates Stadium, and hopefully there will be more to come from Marcus against the current Premier League leaders.

January proved to be another stellar month in front of goal for Marcus, as he found the net seven times in total.

His tally for the season now stands at an impressive 18 goals in 31 appearances as the England international, who was also crowned Player of the Month by United fans and the Premier League, continues to go from strength to strength under Erik ten Hag.

GOAL OF THE MONTH - THE TOP FOUR

While Rashford's stunner against Arsenal collected a whopping 43 per cent of the vote in our official poll, his match-winning effort against Manchester City followed in second place with 17 per cent. Alejandro Garnacho assisted that one, delightfully laying the ball on a plate for Marcus to slot home.

Our no.10's solo run and finish against Forest received 12 per cent in third position, meaning Marcus remarkably claimed first, second and third place in the January poll.

Gleaning nine per cent, Antony came fourth with his effort against Charlton Athletic in the Carabao Cup quarter-final. The Brazilian cut inside before curling a shot past the visitors' goalkeeper Ashley Maynard-Brewer to open the scoring at Old Trafford.
