Victor Lindelof

Update on Victor Lindelof

Friday 20 November 2020 22:30

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has provided an update on Victor Lindelof's back injury.

In the second part of his pre-match press conference, ahead of our encounter with West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford, Ole was asked about Lindelof’s fitness.

The Sweden centre-back has had some trouble with his back but the manager hopes his fellow Scandinavian will be ready for Saturday’s game.

Lindelof has started all but one game for United in the Premier League this season, completing 90 minutes on each occasion, and will hope to feature against West Brom at the Theatre of Dreams, as the Reds look to secure a first home league win of the season.

“We’ll have to check Victor tomorrow because his back is not great,” the manager told reporters on Friday.

“He had it last season as well, and I think it’s more to do with when the games come thick and fast. I think when he gets a few days of extra recovery he should be alright.”

Our no.2 played twice for Sweden over the international break, in the clashes with Croatia and France. However, he was substituted midway through the second half of the latter fixture, in which United team-mates Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial were on the opposing side.

“He felt really well and comfortable in the first game for Sweden, after the rest in the friendly game,” the Norwegian said.

“Then he started feeling it again against France and the games are coming thick and fast. It is an issue that we have to manage but hopefully we don’t have to do any surgery or anything serious.”

The match against West Brom kicks off at 20:00 GMT on Saturday evening. Line-ups for this Premier League match will be officially announced at 19:00 GMT via ManUtd.com and our Official App.
