Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount has been spreading festive cheer at a local care home.

Mount surprised residents at Timperley Nursing Home on Thursday, joining them for their early Christmas dinner.

United’s no.7, who is expected to return from injury in January, was keen to spend his free time attending the meal and meeting those there, which included several lifelong football fans.

A heart-warming photo from an afternoon on which there were smiles all around.
Mason’s visit was kept a surprise for all involved, and he was greeted by 102-year-old Rita Smith upon his arrival at the Kingsley Healthcare Home with his brother.

They sat down to share a roast dinner with residents, pulling a cracker to start festivities and laughing and joking while swapping stories.

Earlier in the week, Mount attended the 34th annual dinner held by the Manchester United Disabled Supporters’ Association at Old Trafford, alongside his Reds team-mates, on what was another very special afternoon of seasonal celebrations.

Erik ten Hag’s players have also enjoyed giving gifts to young supporters this December, while our women’s team were privileged to spend time with some of the inspirational patients at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital recently.
