Aston Villa will progress in the competition at the expense of United, despite fielding an ineligible player.

Noelle Maritz played in the Group A win over Sunderland but was cup-tied.

Sunderland have been awarded the win and go through as group winners - while Villa progress as one of the best runners-up.

United, who had been one of the best second-placed sides, are out as our goal difference is inferior to Villa's.
