Casemiro has been named Manchester United's Player of the Month for September.

Our no.18 came top of the fans' poll, ahead of fellow contenders Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot.

It proved to be a convincing result, as the Brazil international collected 70 per cent of the vote, with skipper Fernandes on 21 per cent and Dalot logging 9 per cent in third spot.

Casemiro's month included a star-man performance in the 3-0 Carabao Cup victory over Crystal Palace, when he scored and provided a sublime assist for Anthony Martial.

During a difficult spell for the Reds, he also netted twice in the UEFA Champions League defeat at Bayern Munich.

The 31-year-old has been a real threat at set-pieces and played in all six of the games in September.

Unfortunately, the midfielder was sent off for a second yellow card during the 3-2 defeat to Galatasaray in our opening October outing, following a desperate bid to halt substitute Dries Mertens inside the box.

The dismissal means he will be suspended for the next Group A fixture, at home to FC Copenhagen on 24 October, after the international break.

Congratulations to Casemiro, on winning the award for the third time since joining the club from Real Madrid last year, and thank you to everybody who voted in the poll.
